Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defence Forces Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir visited Pakistan Ordnance Factories (POF) Wah, the country’s largest defence industrial complex.
According to ISPR, the Field Marshal was briefed on POF’s production capacity, export potential and role in strengthening Pakistan’s defence industrial base.
During the visit, Asim Munir reviewed various production facilities and was briefed on the local development and manufacturing of modern military equipment.He also witnessed tests and trials of locally designed and manufactured weapons and ammunition.
Officials briefed the Army Chief on efforts to promote self-reliance, innovation and increased domestic defence production.The Field Marshal was also briefed on progress in POF’s corporatization process following implementation of the DIPRA Ordinance.
Two new industrial plants are also being established, with production expected to begin by the end of this year.The visit reaffirmed Pakistan’s focus on local defence production, technological innovation, industrial capacity and greater self-reliance.
